2007 C230 - Both interior Door Handles have broken loose at the top of the handle. Anyone had similar problems? Are they hard to change out? Any sources other than dealer?

 

I have a C230 2006 with the same problem. What I did was to put rubber glue on the top of the handle and i solved the problem.

 

My c240 had the same issue, I used a marine grade epoxy to hold it. I think it will hold for the next 10000 years

 

Does anyone know a source that sells aftermarket door pulls maybe aluminum or carbon, etc that will fit the 2007 C230 sport ? If i'm going to replace, like to replace with a little style. Seems they are prone to break, wondering if any aftermarket stylish parts anyone knows of? Thanks!

I have a 2006 C230 Sport with the same problem. First my passenger side handle broke (at the top) but at the time I was still under warranty and the dealer replaced it for free. Sure enough my Driver side handle broke but after the warranty was up. I've been driving it for the last year with the top handle broke. I've heard this is a problem with many of these cars. Of course Mercedes wont admit it. I have made contact with the dealer and they do have a new handle for about $45.00 but the problem is installing it. The dealer told me that you have to remove the whole door panel and I dont have any tools. I can't imagine what someone would charge me just to replace that handle.

If there are any instructions in here to remove and replace this handle please (also) let me know. Thanks

 

2002 c230 Both handles broke. Had it repaired at a collision shop. All fasteners were broken or near broken. They epoxy-ied and used large fender washers. Plastic and rubber typed material in Mercedes = juink.
