Good morning all, i am new to this site, but here goes my 1st post.

I currently have a really annoying problem with my 2002 MB C-class in which i pray some one here knows a solution.

When driving in a straight line, or turning right i have the most annoying clicking/tapping sound coming from under the centre console, if i open the cup holder/coin holder compartment it gets noticebly louder.

I have had a mechanic check for anything hitting the propshaft, and nothing! Also if i drive along with the tapping noise tapping away, and engagae the handbrake the frequencey of the noise increases dramatically, which indicates maybe something it is something to do with the handbrake.
