Default Heated Steering Wheel question, Groaning noise and tapping at start-up...

Just a couple quick questions for someone who may know better...

I've never really used the heated steering wheel on my 03 e320 until some recent and what now seems like unusual cold weather here in NC. I've noticed that it gets very warm but then cools way way down until it's as iff the element has shut off in a matter of a couple minutes. The indicator light stays lit. Is this normal?

Also, sometimes while letting off of the brake I hear a groan coming from under the hood... it sounds like the same groan I get after shutting the car off. Is this coming from the Brake Assist servo and should it be replaced? The car's under factory warranty for a couple more months and another year of CPO.

One final question: At start up, whether cold or hot, the engine seems to tick a bit for just a couple seconds and then it smooths out completly. Is this just the time before the oil is reaching the necessary engine components? Any ideas?

Any insight on anything?

Any other known problems I should be on the look out for? I bought the car recently and truly love it.

Thanks,

SRL
