Default Starter Light; battery lost power

So basically for about a month or so the little light on the lower right hand side of the dash board display turns on the minute I put the key in the ignition and does not turn off even when I am driving. I ignored it and kept on driving and this morning I went to turn the car on and the battery was dead. I don't know if this had anything to do with that but if it did...can someone tell me a solution?

Thank you kindly,

Donalejov

PS
By the way...nothing was left on, ie. Radio, AC, Lights..etc.

When you stick the Key in your Ignition Switch and rotate it a little towards start all of you Dash Board Warning Lights are supposet to come on (not just on Mercedes alone); and that is normal.

This is how you know if you have a burnt out bulb or not on you Warning Lights.

If after the Car/Engine is running a warning light comes on you have a problem.

The car is a 1983 300 Turbo Diesel....the light that is all the way to the right has remained on, after turning the car on, for about a month or so.
