Hello, My 1993 M-B, 300D 2.5 Turbo has become hard to start in cold weather. After it starts the glow plug indicator lamp comes on for about a minute then goes out. Replaced timer relay, same problem. Fuses check OK and glow plugs test OK, Help

Go to the Diesel Giant website (nice site but I believe he charges too muc for parts) and see his how to do it on checking the Glow Plugs. It is not for your exact model and year but the method is the same.

If you replace any Glow plugs besure to Ream (there is a Glow Plug Reaming Tool for this) or other wise clean the Carbon out of the Glow Plug Holes so that you can get the full life out of your Glow PLugs.

If you need to replace any Glow Plugs and your Cylinder Head is Aluminum be aware that some times due to carbon or corrosion the Glow Plugs stick in the Cylinder Head and some times snap off when you try to remove them.
