i was replacing my inline, clear fuel filter today and when I took off the old one to replace it, thehose was spraying diesel everyhwere wit tons of pressure. the engine was off and accelerator not pushed down. It seemed like an awfuly high pressure goin thru that fuel line and filter. last tiem i did this it want not that pwerful. last time there was not furl psraying everyhwere. the acr starts and runs fine, however I am a little confused wit this fuel line thing

Any suggestions? what are you folks experiencing when you change this filter? thanks tr

 

the clear primary filter should see no pressure. fuel is drawn through it so it would see negative pressure. if you loosened the clamp before it and started the engine it would draw bubbles into it. my guess is the car sat overnight and when the tempeture rose in the morning, it created pressure in the tank and hence the fuel lines to and from the tank.

 

The engine was warm- jsut shut off. you wouldnt believe how powerfully it was spraying- i needed to very firmly put my thumb over it to stop the fuel from spraying all over. Awfully odd (nevermind hard to work with). I had also used injectioncleaner/cylinderlube in hte engine in the tankt hats in it right now. Might that have somethign to do with it? Very confusing. anyone else have any other ideas on it.

it wans't me who argue with you about the G-Class wheels.

NO... they both are completely different. nobody copies anobody's design. there are at least a dozen five spokes wheel design in the market. none of them looks alike.

 

dude, will you stop bringing up how u think that Land Rover owns Mercedes please. These are tech. help forums, not esquire rumor turkey chutes. Now, if you have somethign constructive or that may help me with this fuel line questoin, feel free to say something.

by the way my dad wont let me park my car in the garage anymore because its to smelly and smokey (diesel...) The straw that broke the camel's back was the fuel spraying everwhere from replacing the filter, covering the garage in diesel fuel, leaving a delicious scent.
