Two questions:

1. What is the base fuel pressure spec for my '86 300E?

2. How in the #@*$$% do you access the fuel sending unit?(at the top of the gas tank in the trunk).

4.8 - 5.0 bar.

just remove ther trim from inside the trunk, and you will see the tank and sending unit on the top.

 

Thank you....but I know WHERE it is, I just need to remove that hex-shaped-cover-thingy. I tried large channel-locks with no success. Any ideas?

What psi is 4.8-5.0 bar?

oh... you need tools? try to visit the nearest tools and equipment shop near your area. you might find a suitable tools to twist the flange out.
some people fabricate by themselves. just be creative and resourceful.

we can find many conversion table from the web about bar to psi.

try google. it is a good search engine.
