Another probably dumb question... sorry...
I have been trying to figure out how to turn on the fog lights (?) on my 84 300SD. I do not see a seperate switch for them and they do not come on automatically with the headlights. Maybe they just need to be replaced. There seems to be an orange button on the headlight selector switch that I assumed to be some sort of position lock, but it is permanently depressed so I am not sure. Any ideas?

Hey, thanks for the info, they work!!! However that raises even more questions...
1. When I pull the selector switch out one click, they turn on. What is it supposed to do when I pull it out all the way to 2 clicks, because as far as I could tell it did nothing?
2. Should I be able to turn the fog lights on with just the parking lights on? I can pull the switch out, but the fog lights will only come on when I turn the headlights full on. Is this normal?

 

the rear fog light will turn "on".

front fog light is only suppose to turn on when the headlights are on too.

Just one of the rear lights turns on brighter. Driver's side, I think. That's the rear "fog" light. Your car is more noticeable that way, I guess. I've never driven behind an M-B in the fog when the rear fog was turned on so can't say for sure.
