Hi - is this a difficult belt to replace? I was hit with a $249 estimate on doing this, so will try to do it myself. I have an MB Repair Manual, but it doesn't detail this task. Thanks a lot.

The steering pump bracket has a tensioner to loosen/relax the belt. Simple Install. Replace power steering filter while ur there.

Hi - what's the best tool to use to remove the filter? I tried using an oil filter wrench, but I can't get it to fit and I don't want to force it. Thanks.

 

As far as the bolt though, it's the power steering filter that I'm removing and it's a spin-on type. Once I get that out of the way, I can continue getting to the bolts that'll allow me to replace the power steering belt.
