Default 82 300D Fix it or donate it?

Hi

I have a 1982 300D that has been sitting for 3 years. It has 190K miles, and was running okay (needed some minor brakework) when it was basically abandoned due to various circumstances. NowI'm tired of staring at it. I would be fixing it up to sell it (well, I wouldn't be, a mechanic would), or I can just donate it to charity. My questionwould it probably be more than $1K to fix it up to decent running condition again, because it has been sitting so long? If so, I'm going to donate it to a nonprofit. But, if it could be up and running without too much hassle, these cars are in pretty high demand for converting to biodiesel in the Bay Area.

I'd appreciate your feedback!

Thanks!

Spend the $60 to have it towed to an independent MB mechanic. Pay the $75 or so to have a used car inspection - they should be able to tell you what it will take to get it back on the road. Either you will be surprised or relieved. Best of luck to you. Your motor should have a ton of life left in it.
