Brake lights seem to be intermittant on my 240D. Most of the time out though. (Both at the same time). All the rest of the lights work (parking, turn signal, reverse). Any suggestions for troubleshooting this problem. I have checked the fuses up front (all good). Have pulled the panels in back and the connections look good at the bulb end.

 

Mine did the same.I found thatcleaning the socket contacts with emery paper and applying a bit of silicone grease on the bulb ends fixed the problem. Clean any leftover emery paper grit from the bulb sockets before applying the grease.

 

Thanks, that seemed to do the trick. Still has a hitch every twenty or so hits on the brakes, but it was not working at all.
