Got the old benzes for my commute from Maryland to Tennessee. wanted something i could run the wheels off. got the 84 300SD off ebay. spent some $$ fixing it up and then my mechanic calls and says he has some guy who needs to sell an 85 300SD. told him to look at it and if its good i'll buy it sight unseen. so i got another one. truly, the 85 is a nicer car except for the mediocre repaint. interior perfect. but i have spent more $$ on the 85 than the 84. 84 just seems to go and go while the 85 comes up with stuff needing work. maybe sat around too long. just finished replacing all the front end bushings ball joints etc. drives so nice and tight! but now the seat problem!! (see my post under general tech and s-class)

People stereotype them as a rich man's car that are expensive to fix. Having said that people haven't gotten into them but they are common in places like dc/columbia.

You missed a good time. We were supposed to have 10+ people show up for a Dodgeforum (sister site) meeting before the show, but no one came. lol

 

I know what you mean with the rich man's car I felt that way to I was a honda freak any ? about them I am golden. Benz I am trying to figure these cars out but mine is great so far

Here's a 5 month heads-up just so you can schedule it that far in advance if necessary. We should probably go Friday, to avoid weekend madness x20. Most likely we would fit in an early morning photo shoot, get some lunch, auto show, then get dinner and chill.
