Default Is it worth parting out a '87 190D Turbo or just sell it?

I bought one from a friend a few months ago and it's in good shape. It has about 170K miles on it, runs well, has a good interior and exterior. There is a dent in the left front fender and the front bumper is cracked, but that's about the only exterior damage.

Anyway, he needed to sell it quick and needed $2K asap for personal reasons and I figured I could just resell it. I'm not sure I can get $2K for it so I'm thinking about parting it out. I already have 4 cars so I really don't need to keep it.

Anybody know if I can get the $2K back out of it if I sell it or can I do better parting it out? Where would the best place to sell the parts be if I decided to do that?

TIA!

Parting out might potentially bring you $5k, but it might take 10 years and at the end you'll need flatbed to haul leftovers to junk yard.
Unless you are on welfare >> sell the whole car.

You should be able to get $2,000 out of it easy. If the interior is good exterior is good and the engine is good. Or you can polish it up a little and demand more than $2,000.
