300 sl questions
Thanks for letting me join--
Currently I have a 1989 190 E 2.6. Have nothing but great things to say about it (except for the time when the battery died right as I went over the fricken train tracks). Decided I'm looking for something a little different, I think that the 1990 sl 300 is a definate possibility. Better mileage than a 500 with power to boot. Questions I have about this car as digging for information is a little tiresome. Does it come with two tops, as is, when the covertible top is down, a hard top can be placed on top? Does anyone know a top speed? Is insurance a killer? Doesn't seem like it from checking quotes though.. What's the ride like, smooth? At high speeds? Do you have any suggestions for other models that are around the same price range? I know that I will be sticking with a Mercedes, first time you sit in any model you know you will have one for life.
