Default 82 300 D Turbo questions

First of all, I am new here and new to the Mercedes community. I just bought this car two night ago for $1k. It has 141k miles on it. It is my first 'Cedes.
~It runs fine but it idles very hard. I ordered new glow plugs 'cause they look like the originals on there believe it or not.
~It runs smooth once the accelerator is pressed and RPM's are increased. I can also hear the turbo running as it should.
~I also took the air filter element out and cleaned all of the oil out of it and all inside the car as far as i could reach. I also just poked around and tightened nuts, bolts, clamps and such as I went. Everything looks totally original. I put everythng back and installed the new air filter. I silicone sealed everything tight. It will not be dry untill tomorrow so I can't start it up for a test till then.

~What weight oil do I use on this car? Can I use a synthetic? What brands are recommended? And most impottantly, what do I need to avoid using on mu motor or tranny?
~Any responses and knowledge any body wants to share with me will be greatly apreciated.

~I have got to say that I take back everything negative I ever said about 'Cedes being over rated all these years. This thing is so simply built! It is like WWII technology. I am in love with this straight block. I love my 'Cedes

One more thing, can I run Bio Diesel in my car? And do I need to use a sulpher additive?

I peeled out all the silicone and rummaged through an Auto Zone until I found a large enough hose TO seal off the turbo intake. Runs a LOT better now.
