Default What to expect?!?! E350

Hi y'all, my grandfather is going to be living with us for a year. I want to get him a used car so he can get around and not have to stay at the house for long hours. I am looking at a 05 or 06 E350 or Lexus ES. I love MB since I grew up with them but I have chosen Acura for my own personal vehicle.

Can someone please express your own experiences from this models. Pros and cons would be greatly appreciated. Also, what's the maintenance cost I should expect. I only plan on keeping the car for a couple of years. Might just keep it for a second car when he goes back home.

Thank you so much! I'm sure y'all get this question all the time. I just need to know what I'm getting into before purchase.

Hello and welcome to the forum! If you're looking for reliability, I think it's safe to say that generally a Japanese car will be more reliable, a Lexus ES is pretty much a luxury version of the Camry, which can run forever. I'm by no means saying that a well taken care of MB won't be as nice or reliable, but if it was me and reliability was the prime concern, I'd get the Lexus. I think you understand, being an Acura owner...just my 2 cents. Best of luck and please let us know if you have any further questions!

Thanks for that! I do like how reliable Japanese cars are. Test drove an ES yesterday but there's just nothing special about it. Going to test drive an E350 today so we'll see how it goes. So we'll see and I'll keep y'all posted.

I agree with you, the ES is kind of a no thrill ride; but the comfort and reliability factor is what they're going for in that model.
