Currently a BMW owner who appreciates "fine German machinery". Am considering getting a 2006 or 2007 AWD C for my daughter's first car and am needing to get up to speed on this model. Any pointers to good threads outlining issues, points to consider and warranty issues etc would be greatly appreciated.

Also, help in making sense of the engine and model # designations would be helpful as there appear to be many choices that vary by year. Very confusing to a newb.
