Hi everyone, I'm new here. Hope alls well with everyone.
I have an issue with my 98 clk 320.

my car ran fine to the e.r, but when leaving.... my key fob wouldn't unlock my doors. then it wouldn't even turn the key in the ignition. the display read. "remove key" or displayed the mileage.....etc.
ive changed to batteries in my key fob 4 different times. still nothing. checked the battery, two fuse boxes, still nothing., im locked out. when i insert the key i would normally hear the system unlock. but yet again... nothing.

the only thing ive done to the car recently is install an aftermarket stereo. and that was a year ago. and .... wiggled the connectors under the glove box to turn on my defrosting fan. The cover is still off the car. could my daughter have kicked something under there? or could their be some kind of connection that would cause this under there? it somehow got wet under there as well and thats why i had the cover off. it was random and i didnt think alot about it.
any advice would be great.
i also looked through my cell phones camera to see the faint light from my key fob to ensure it was sending a signal???? there was a faint one when i'd depress the button
