Well, this forum is deff new to me. I drive a jeep but its down right now<IMG src=smileys/smiley19.gif border="0"> so I bought a used (87, ha ha) 420 SEL for the meantime. It has a few problems though. The major ones are the idle is out of control (about 2100 rpm) ,the windshield wipers dont work, and its got a serious case of the shakes at diff. speeds. It also has about 167K miles on it(how long do these things run)? So, hello to all and It would be greatly apprecitated if anyone knows how to fix the idle could let me know. Thanks,</P>

chris, the car really doesn't have that many miles on it. we have a '90 300e with around 200k miles on it. They will run for a very long time with proper maintenance. I am not sure how to fix the idle problem but beware of taking it to a dealer for service; repairs have been very expensive on our old e in recent times.
