Default 420 SEL vs. 560 SEL

Aside from the engine size and the leveling rear suspension, what are the major differences between these models? Is one more reliable or easier to fix than the other? I've driven both, and of course the 560 is more powerful, but I'm thinking that's probably the biggest difference. Any thoughts?

Well, you also get burl wood interior w/ a 560, 420's had heated seats as an option.

I've driven both, and after having 560's I wouldn't want to go down to a 420. The 420 has a nice pull on top, but you can really feel the lack of bottom end.

Other then that, they are pretty much the same

Best,
Jonathan

I have a 420, and the only thing I would be concerned with is the fact that there are less 420s out there than 560 engines. The 4.2 V8 was only used in the 420 model for Mercedes, whereas the 560 was used in the 560 SEL and 560SL, so there are more spare parts available.

There is NO comparison the 2 cars. The 560 is heads above the 420.
