Default Hello everyone!

Hello everyone; I finally joined a forum after purchasing 5 Mercedes Benz's. I am a bit disappointed in thequality of the some of the newer models. Our most recent purchase is a 2004 SL500; beautiful car but I question the extensive use of mediocre quality plastic on the interior and exterior. The car also feels very slow. The seven speed transmission is always downshifting with minimal results in acceleration. I am wonderding if I should have gotten the SL55. Does anyone else feel this way?

Default Hello everyone!

They never go fast enough, do they? Just when you think you've got it, some kid wearing his baseball cap backwards shoots by you in hisHonda that has a wing froma B-52 sitting on the trunk.

Default Hello everyone!

Hi Bruce, welcome to the forum. I've a SL55 and I can tell you: This car does not feel slow and acceleration after downshifting is incredible! If you're close to the Philly area I can give you a test ride to compare.
