Default Extended Warranties for 2002 C240 - worth it?

Hi All,

My 2002 C240 is just coming up on the 50,000 mile mark. I have been considering a purchase of an extended warranty for about $2500 for a 4 year 100,000 mile warranty with a $200 deductible. In my mind, the warranty does not cover mntenance so I will have to pay for that warranty or no, but how likely is it that major system will go out before the 100,000 mile mark? Do I need this warranty or is it simply a waste of my hard earned money? Let me know what you think.

Thanks!

Judith

I'm going through the same question myself. Does anyone have any suggestions?

I bought extended warranty for wife's ML and all the small stuff, that goes wrong is "not covered"
I am afraid how it would work if the serious trouble would happen. Read the small print very carefully.
Like any insurance, the extended warranty is the great value if you need it and money down the drain if you don't.
Flip the coin.
