Advice needed

I am driving my brothers 1990 300ce has 106,000 miles, and I have just changed the oil to synthetic royal purple, good move or bad?

Not all synthetics equal. Synthetic good, Royal Purple? Google synthetic oil reviews and Royal purple falied some tests. MB recommends Mobile one, but best test results by more than one lab rated "AmsOil best. I'll be switching to AmsOil when the warrantee period is over. Royal Purple still way ahead of mineral based oils though and if you don't race the engine most likely will do no harm.
