Ok, I have owned a 1986 190e manual (totaled by drunk driver) and I now drive a 1987 190e automatic with 270k on it. The poor car is really starting to go and I really need new brakes as it won't pass Mass inspection. Oh, and the blinkers & radior stopped working.

So, I have the opportunity to purchase a AZ driven 1987 260e with 134k from a good friend who is going abroad in December. He bought the car 2 weeks ago for $1900.00 and will sell it to me for that and any additional $$ he puts into it to get it inspected. He is pretty frugal and I don't think that he will spend $$ he doesn't need to.

No rust, some dings here in and there, the interior is great. No real mechanical records but it seems to run well. Some electrical problems, I would have my MB mechanic take a look at it before the purchase.

Barring any major problems, what do you guys think? I know its not a racer, something my 400 series owner father likes to point out.....
