Woodgrain vs. Metallic Console

Woodgrain vs. Metallic Console
I'm not sure if it qualifies as the console, but I'm referring to the plastic piece in the center of the dash are athat houses the A/C cntrls, etc. Has anyone heard of an aftermarket replacement on this?
I really prefer the woodgrain to the metallic, but the car I'm looking at has the metallic.
THANKS!
-Genevieve

RE: Woodgrain vs. Metallic Console
Often for sale on Ebay. You will get used the the Metallic or Carbon fibre trim though, it goes with the vehicle.

i prefer yours. anthracite or quartz against that burled walnut.
both are made of the same materials... aluminum sandwich.
it seems that you need to get the complete maching set Genevieve.

Thanks for the info.
In case anyone is interested in dash kits, a web search turned up this site - they have about a million choices for the SLK:

Is this good though?
Do you have to strip off the original or do you just place them over?
