Engine cutting out possible electrical problem?
Hi,
I have an issue with my SLK170 230 Kompressor year 2000 and would appreciate your help.
10 days ago my SLK cut out whilst driving I came to a stop all the dashboard light came on, the car was making whirring sound similar to fan running slowly but a bit more electrical sounding. I restarted the car and had no issues until today.
The car cut out again tonight this time turning the ignition key did nothing except produce the whirring sound, I had to get out and push the car, I received a slight electrical shock, when I got back into the car it started again and I made it home.
On the way home I was thinking about what I believe is an electrical fault and recalled that over the last few weeks I have been receiving an electric shock when I exit the car. I had 4 new tyres 5 or so weeks ago if that has any bearing.
Could I have an earth problem that would cause this? What else could it be? Any suggestions?
Thanks for any responses
Chris
