I have recently bought a 1996 C280 Elegance.At first it was ok and then it developed a "helicopter" type fluttering noise on start up in the morning.This lasted for about 3-4 mins then went away until the next morning. I talked myself into changing the Scavenger fuel pump because it sounded like it was coming from that area. This made no difference at all.
Over the next week or two the problem developed into the car stalling at almost every junction, and now the car is undriveable (although I could probably get it to a garage).Any ideas? I don`t want to spend a fortune by guessing and loved the car immensely before this problem began.
