Default Tight seat belt

I just noticed the passenger seat belt is rather tight and locks you in like duct tape! I've had the car for several months now and only recently rode as a passenger! It certainly doesnt give a little like the driver belt does. Doesnt seem normal. Any idea what it could be?

Thanks all,

maybe it depends on the size of your hip... or how much beer you drink.

can you still retract it? the mechanism not stuck?

the squibb can explode at two stages. tight and tighter during a crash. malfunction can also cause this. the squibb can lock the rest of the length.

LOL. No actaully as soon as the belt is fastened it won't extend at all - in most cars you can still extend the belt so you can stretch and move around in your seat unless the G-forces are strong enough to lock the belt. On mine the belt extends fine until its fastened, but as soon as it is fastened it locks at that length. Is that normal?

There is a "Child" switch on the right hand side of the passenger seat. Switch it back to normal and your seat belt should act again like the one on the driver side.
