Default Oil Filler Cap Too Tight To Turn By Hand.

Need to add a bit of Mobil 1 to hold me over till my next service. Got the alert on my dash to add a qt at the next service station. Trouble is the filler cap won't budge. I don't want to force it with a wrench or pliers, but I'm unable to grip it and turn it with my hands. Don't want to break the cap using tools. Any suggestions? It's really tight. BTW, its a 2005 C230k.

you can use pliers or channel locks to turn it. just dont squeeze it too tight.

I have to use a hammer and the blunt end (handle) of a screwdriver to get it started.

I have had to add four quarts in the past year... the service department does not seem concerned.
