I have a 1988 560SL. Anyone know how to remove the sun visor? I have a shop manual but it doesn't tell.

 

You have to pull the mirror off and remove the screws for the plate. And then I think there is another phillips headed screw through a small hole along the edge. It's been awhile since I've taken the trim off a SL, seems like it's also stuck along the front edge with some black sticky tar like adhesive. After you get the trim off you can get to the visor scew.

 

I figured it out... Remove screw from outside edge of visor. Then, locate the hidden screw in th ebottom of the trim piece & remove it. Next remove the screw from the other end of the piece the visor tab goes into. Gently pull the trim back at the edge near the door post. There's another visor screw under the trim piece. There's FOUR wires going to the visor light...figure that one out! There's just 1 light.

 

I think two of the wires feed the light on the other side.
