Default Soft Top Computer

Help!!

Does anyone know where the Top Computer is located?? I'm told mine needs to be reset.

'97 SL 500.. All parts seem to work but not insync.

Any help would be appreciated!

I don't know if there is a "top computer." If there is one and it can be reset, disconnecting the battery will reset it. Have your radio code handy.

Thanks for the reply. I've been told by several people that there is a computer that controls the
top's function that is located under or near the drivers side seat. Anyone know where it's located?

yes, the computer must control the relays and about 18 micro switches on it.

the control unit is on the rear ocassional seat on the right side.

just pull it up... on model without the seat, it's only a cover.

the control unit is being held in place by the black plastic nut.

Thanks much for the reply. I found the "computer" under the cover as you described.

Now....How do I "reset" it??

i got no idea about restting it before.

as what lugnut have mentioned, just interrupt the power supply from the unit.

it must be that you can do it without re-entering the radio code, that's why you got to do it directly from the control module instead of removing the battery terminal.

if you see a big brown or red wire, un-plug that terminal connector for a few seconds and re-install.
