SL500 vs 500SL
Hopefully this isn't too stupid of a question, but.........
In another post lugnut mentioned the 500sl and sl500 in discussing the power and performance of the sl600. What is the difference between the sl500 and the 500sl. Are these two completely different models or what?

it is just the different naming Mercedes used.
Mercedes used to put numbers first into their models, then the alphabets.
But later I think it was during sometimes last decade, they switched it around.
So on the older models we'll see, 300 CE, 560 SEL ; the newer ones are named like E320, C230, CLK500 and so on....
