I have a 2000 MY - SL500 and an interesting problem. My original radio works just fine and so does the CD player. Every once in a while (maybe monthly) the radio and CD will not turn on. If I disconnect the battery and wait about an hour before reconnecting the battery the radio and CD mysteriously start to work again????

Any thoughts?

Hi Bill - try to get the codes read off the DME that'll give you a better idea of where to start troubleshooting.

 

might pull out the unit and check the connections. power supply and ground. wires/harness can get pinched, not a lot of room. inspect fuses, clean contacts.
