Default New to Mercedes - Expansion Valve Removal?

Hello I am working on my landlord's 94 SL 320. I am not familiar with Mercedes for the most part. I tried looking for others with this same issue but was only able to find the exansion valve's location on a similar year and model. I am looking to find out how to remove it. I am under the impression it is located next to the brake booster on the driver's side. However there appears to be a lot of stuff in the way, including a big plastic thing that houses the air cleaner and the wiper assembly. How are these items removed? There also seems to be some sensors located on each side of the air filter. I have already taken off a lot of stuff.

I am not sure why he is convinced it is the expansion valve. AC stuff isnt my forte. I do know how to remove the stuff, I just have to be able to get to it. Thanks!

it isn't a picnic to get at it. about 4 hrs to replace if you know what you're doing. a subscription to all-data can help or do a search for a you-tube service video.

4 hours if you know what you're doing wow... Well I couldnt find anything on youtube so I guess all data would be my only choice. I really wish I knew how to get that plastic shroud off.. I have everything else off it seems.
