Drive car came out an a 4ft oil slick under the car. Not sure if oil or tranny. Engine starts as normal with no emergency lights coming on. Afraid to drive car. HELP

 

What year and platform is this in regards to?

Since your car is OBDII, I would suggest pulling the codes from the DTC. This will give you a definitive answer as to where to start looking.

 

Could be ABC fluid barf? My 2004 did this recently while sitting in the garage.

I lifted the hood and could see it came from the ABC fluid reservoir. No warnings or codes. I had it checked by my indie. He couldn't find anything, but topped it up and put a new seal on the reservoir just in case.

I noticed that the ride had deteriorated and read about ABC fluid barf happening when an accumulator or dampener blows. I also read that when they blow they are likely to put debris into the remaining ABC fluid and that is likely to start working its way around the valves and seals causing more problems in the future. I had planned to get them replaced in the fall, so I brought that forward and had them all (4) replaced a couple of weeks ago. The parts aren't too expensive and labor on 3 is OK, but the return dampener is buried so it took them a while to get out and replace. Ride is much better now.
