hello to all ,, found a 78 450sl with 7000 miles ,, the present owner knows nothing about the car ,, I have no idea when the car ran last ,mechanically I know my way around ,, Mercedes not so much . other than the normal stuff ,cleaning fuel system , changing fluids ,etc., can someone tell me if there are any issues to watch for with this model? thank you for any and all help..

 

are you sure about the mileage? It seems impossible that it only has 7,000 miles on her. If it don't have service records, I'd see if you can get information from the DMV with the vin#. buyer beware.

 

thanks brookings ,, I am finding out more info on this car from local folks ,, I not so much doubting the mileage , the car is very un-worn when you look it over ,, but wondering why the person stopped driving it ?,, the master cylinder is missing ?? it was part of a auction and I guess there were a lot of cars in this little collection .. still kicking around the purchase with the banker ..lol
