Default Auxiliary cooling fan

My aux cooling fan is not functioning, when I let it idle up to 80 degrees C it doesn't see a voltage at the connector next to the ABS, fan runs fine when 13v jumpered to it. Is there a dedicated fuse somewhere or a control relay? I have a useless digital manual so second sight is required. I searched the threads an only found references for other models. Where is power sourced? Ran great until it didn't!

Default fan relay

I was looking for a fan fuse somewhere in the engine compartment because other models listed it there, found it in the kick panel fuse box but the locator lists a aux fan relay term 86 with the functions of the # 7 fuse. The Aux fan fuse is #14 and is powered with the switch off. Anyone know where the fan relay is especially the term listed. I ordered another service manual as the last was too difficult to open. Getting closer but no joy yet.Update..... followed wiring with toner and found it entered the firewall through a black weather cup so the relay must or not be behind the glove box with the relay assortment, now to get close to it and see which it might be. Am I the first to have a problem with the fan? How very unlikely.

still digging on this problem and signal traced back from aux fan to the weather connector through the firewall to a relay listed as Bosch temperaturregler which is a climate control regulator P/N 1147 328 025 Mercedes P/N 000 822 1003, can anyone verify that this controls the aux fan as well?

Seems I ventured into unknown territory as I have no responses, however I replaced the relay and did not fix the problem. In the schematics for the aux fan it shows three relays that sequence depending on temp switch position. Relays are 24, 18, 19. The 62 degree C switch operates relay24 the 100 degree C switch operates relay 18, now I need to find the 100 degree labeled #8 switch and if good the relays. Where can I get a parts location for the relays and the temp switch 100 degree C. If the sensor is bad nothing else happens. Finding this much information has been difficult

Can confirm Mercedes P/N 000 822 1003 is the temperature control for the A/C System, not related to the Aux Fan.

It certainly appears that way. My advice is to hit up your local Mercedes-Benz dealer and provide your VIN number and ask them these questions. From your account it definitely seems to be purely an electrical issue. Hopefully you can get in touch with an advisor or manager who's willing to provide part numbers and/or schematics to help you out.

It's definitely electrical and the fan motor is good, I will try to see if the Benz service will help or just tell me to bring it in. To date I have fixed everything that has had an issue. I changed that relay because I toned out the wiring from the fan and that seemed to be where it ended up. Thanks for the input.
