Can anybody please help me, my father as a 1996 E230 that starts fine and works fine until 4000rpm then it feels as if a rev limiter comes in. no managment lights or code are diplayed.We have changed the lander sensor,sparkplugs and diaphram pressure regulator but to no joy?

 

My 95 SL 500 does the same thing at 4200 rpm. The dealer said that was normal. It has a "dry rev governor." It doesnt do that under load.
