Default 1973 450SL - Good or bad deal???

Hey there ladies and gents,

I’ve just signed up with this club because of a spontaneous purchase a few days ago. However, I am having doubts about my purchase. I figure members of this club would be more knowledgeable with respect to the true value of my purchase, thus please offer some comments!

Here’s what I picked up:
1973 Mercedes 450SL convertible. Auto, hard top and soft top. The body appears to be in good shape over all, although there are a few minor spots of rust. The undercarriage and frame rails seem good with no signs of rust. There was some water on the passenger side floor; however I could not trace the source. The interior seems good. No rips or tears in the leather and all the components work. The car has 120,000 miles on it which I think is quite high, however the motor and transmission seem to function exceptionally well. The car needs an exhaust system as this time, otherwise can be driven. I purchased this vehicle for $3000 (CAN)

I will post some pictures soon. However, in the mean time I was curious whether I go a good deal or paid too much?
Your respnses would be most appreciated.
Cheers,
Ricky Patel
