Does anyone know why the windshield and the rear glass are tinted purple on some S-Classes and some are regular?

 

Its a solar reflective coating in order to help control the inside cabin temp in hot weather. Like on a camera lens.

I personally dont like the way it looks....

 

Not sure if it is an option.
I suspect that its just technology that has come of age. Many manufacturers use it these days.
It reduces the size of the AC compressor and also reduces emmissions / improves fuel consumption since the smaller compressor uses less power.

what year that is included on S-Class??

not purple.

clear, green or blue.

 

its probebly aftermarket tint that someone put one, cheap tint turns
purple after a while.
