Default Transmission Oil leaks

Hi all

new to the forum, owner of a 2001 S 320 40,000km only. recently has oil leaks, fixed once and still leaking. Went for a long distance run this morning and discovered the temperature went as high as 90C. Checked coolant and oil levels are fine.

Please advise course of actions.

Cheers

Robert

hi robert88,

does your merc still got the oil leaks? Do double check with the workshop that you fix with. it might be the hardening oil ring located with the big wires located on the rear left side of your ATF transmission oil pan.

ok.. now back to your temperature problem.. Have a mechanic who has the pressure pump kit to test if there is any coolant leaks.

Possibility for items need to have a look upon

1. from the hardening fiber plastic radiator
2. possible leaks from the radiator hose
3.radiator cap
4.thermostat valve
5. The motor cooling fan

These are the possibility base upon what Ive repaired & experience while fixing on those models.

update us with the results and share it with the forums readers

good luck

Hi Rockerfela 174

It looks like the oil leaks has stopped. I have booked for a check up this Thursday and will certainly share with all the results. Your explaination re: the hardening of the oil ring makes a lot of sense.

Thank you for your inputs.

Regards

Robert Teo
