Where can I find the dipstick to check my transmission oil level on 2000 S500?

 

no dipstick for transmission...mb has special system, if you are concerned ask your mechanic...

 

yes you can buy the dip stick from MB parts,ask for 722.6 gear box dipstick ,its about £30.00........................................... .................................................. .................................................. .................................................. .................................................. ....

They run $80 at online discount places, I bought mine off of a forum member for $25 + $5 shipping, I'll sell it for $30 shipped to the lower 48 USA, It is like new and has been used twice. I no longer need it as I have completed the fluid change, mine is a 00 S430 722.6 tranny.

You'll need a newlock key (red plastic) to re cap the filler tube, it's $0.88 (88 cents) at Autohaus Arizona, I can provide details if interested.

 

If special means idiotic I'll agree, my 300C with the 722.6 is the same. MB isno longerputting in oil dipsticks, you have to rely on their very iffy electronics to check the oil, another idiotic move.MB does not even list what kind of oil to use, the owner's manual says "see dealer".
