I took my car to MB Dealer and it was not the ECU now they think is the "motor transfer" another $1200. but they wont return the $1500. from the ecu.
What could it really be?
Larry, I had the same issue with my windows and eventually I learned that I was pressing the botton to hard.

 

ok, it was the conductor plate all aloge.... took it out, conected back on and reset the ECU a few times and it works...

 

Same thing happened to me when i ran down the battery accidetally in my garage. (Left the lights on manual.) actually, took it in for new tires and the tire shop turned the lights to a wierd sertting and I was used to them being on automatic. So, back to the windows: It sounds like they need to have their limits repreogrammed. I looked it up in here and found the answer and I cannot exactly remember the procedure. something wierd, you press and hold a button on the commandor dash with the key on, while picking your nose in a tunnell. It was simpler than it sounded and worked instantly. It was about a year ago, so I don't fully recall. good luck.
