hi this may sound stupid , but where does the oil go for s class transmition which i just purchased a 1996 model which is slow in responding when placing into drive .
not been serviced for a long time

Hi barry,

this is S280 W140 model right ? there is another dip stick on the rear left or right side of your engine either with red dip stick color or black.

before you put anything in those check if the fluid are in red color, if it is ,that's the right one. if ure trying to fill up your Auto transmission fluid use a small hose attached with the funnel which can fit in the dip stick.

when you do your measurement of the transmission do it when it is normal idling engine temperature.

Since u havent service your auto transmission for quite sometime please send it for auto transmission service at your mb garage or workshop who can do this for you, lessen your burden
