Default Need help with telephone hook up

I really need help from someone with knowledge of the S500 phone system. I bought my car, a 2003 model, last summer. It has (it appears) everything needed except a phone. Mercedes dealerships sell a Bluetooth adapter that plugs right where the old Motorola model cellphone did. I bought the adapter, connected it, and it appears to be working correctly. The system itself, though, doesn't recognize it. I get an error message that says there is not a phone connected.

At this point I am lost. I took my car to the local MB dealership (MB of Memphis) and explained the problem (I also had a non-working nav system). Ultimately, they determined the COMAND unit was bad and replaced it. Thank God for my after market warranty, which paid for itself on this one visit! I got my car back today after it spent thirty-one consecutive days at the dealership- and the phone still doesn't work. Coventional wisdom tells me that I don't want to go back to the dealership.

Anyone run into this before? Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

JScott

alot of times it is the coil cord thats F'd up. or rather the cradle is bad. if it doesnt see the phone than the bluetooth light on the puck should not light up, I believe. if the puck lights up then cradle should be ok. this is just a guess.

Thanks Chassis 221. The blue light on the puck blinks as it should. That is why this thing is so weird.
Appreciate your input.
