2001 e320 need to hook my ipod up through tape deck
I need to know if there is any possible way to play the tape deck with the door open without hearing that annoying beeping noise. I really like the sound of the tape adapter but someone has to leave there hand on the door to keep it shut because the cord sticks out on the side. Please help I cant go one more day wih out my ipod. The fm transmitter sound quality isn't that great and when you are driving from different cities you have to keep looking for radio stations.

I use a tape adaptor and the small diameter wire from the "casette" doesn't present any problem. I hadn't even realised that if the tape door is open, that the unit bleeps.
I also have a FM adaptor for the iPod but this is often forgotten when we go on a journey (usually in the twon car) and the wired casette gets the most use. Quality is adequate and no bleeping.
Maybe if you move the wire slightly to the side it will allow the door to shut a little further and prevent the bleep. maybe not on your particular radio installation.
Mine is the standard w220 S Class installation.
Stuart.

Get the griffin road trip fm unit at best buy or circuit city, plugs into your 12v and really works nicely, charges the ipod at the same time,no static,no tape hum or beeps and it looks very nice.

It can be set to more then just the low bands like most,it has the ability to tune to any station.Have used ours in many cities down the coast and no problems. If you got one and did not like it,just return it to best buy!
