It is something you can do. but it can be a real pain in the ***. Depends if your antenna is on the rear glass or on the trunk lid. If your antenna is o.n the rear glass the antenna wires run along either side of the rear glass. you need to make sure you properly seat the wires. make sure when you are pulling out of the wires you pay attention to the correct position of wire routing. there is a oval shaped rubber gromets on either side below the rear glass. you also might need to remove some trunk panels to access the wire connections.

Default Cheap Fix for Bad Antenna

I had the same problem. I could not figure out how the antenna connected and apparently someone in the past had the same problem and the antenna was just stuck up there with no connections. It looked like an expensive and hard task to fix it. I went to eBay and bought a cheap antenna that came from China. It was just $12 or so. I plugged it in and put it on my rear fender just running the wire inside the trunk. I plugged the new antenna into the side of the splitter with one wire. I immediately got 7 or 8 satelites. Problem solved and cheap.

If still having problem try disconecting the box in the trunk for a little while then plug it back in, you should see results. The box comes out by pushing in the clip on both side. Good Luck!
