This is going to sound really stupid; but, I can't find out how to open the plastic cover, protecting the engine air filter. I have a 2001 S430. The front part seems to pull up; but, beyond that, I can see no clips, wingnuts, bolts, or fasteners of any type, that would allow entry. I don't want to break anything by forcing it.

How do I change my air filter? Thanks for helping a newbie!

 

pull up the entire air filter housing. it's just a clip, so don't worry. you won't break anything. do it quickly and snaply.

turn it around. unscrew the torx (4 on each side).
