I need help on the chime or buzzer system on my 1996 S420. The chime or buzzer is always on even if the doors or key is not in the ignition. Once you start it up, it goes off after a couple of minutes. I tried to disconnect the door chime switches, and it is still on. I recently removed the ignition switch and reinstalled it. Is there a connection about the buzzer in the ignition switch? How do I disable the chime? Thank you.

 

This sounds like a loose ground wire.
