Hi

I have a 1992 600 SEL. Recently, the orange ASR light comes on and the engine loses power. This problem occurs intermittently. If i stop and restart the engine, the problem goes away.

Can anyone help with diagnozing the problem and offer a solution.

well that narrows it right down. lets try to get some codes read. especially with these 140's with 120 motors. 1992 hell that could be anything. could be a throttle actuator could be a carb module could be a asr module hell anything. the only problem is each of those components start at $2000.

 

check the throttle adjusting cable, try to retard it, next step if the first one does not work, check the throttle actuator harness, been there before now I am enjoying my V12 after all the horrible experience, you don't really have to spend a fortune on that repair unless you want to.
